We’re happy to announce that in the last few weeks Burton released their Winter 2012 tees, some of which feature our art on the Women’s, Men’s, and boys lines.
I ran across a picture of this the other day on Pinterest of this and thanks to a tip from my pal Shawn there’s a vid out there of artist D*Face and his crew inventing a sweet way to paint and freshly painted pool using skateboards and a spray paint mechanism. Enjoy!

Here’s a look at our West Coast Polaroid Vans on display in the Union Square Vans Store in San Francisco, California. They came out really nice and have a good placement at just above eye level in the store.
On June 8, 2011, I had the honor of speaking at Full Sail University as part of their DLXS (Design Lecture Experience Series).
To help promote the talk I created a 2-color silkscreen poster on chipboard which bore my likeness and eluded to the theme of the talk which was Make The Jump. In crafting the talk, I wanted to speak to two groups, art students who are stepping out for the first time and to more established artists and designers who want to be successful in their business.
It was a lot of fun sharing some helpful tips with the students as well as some of my work and experiences creating work for great clients all over the country. I got a lot of great emails and messages that my talk was one of the best DLXS yet. Students asked lots of questions during the Q&A portion of the talk which is a pretty good indicator that they were connecting with me or to the work I create. Several students also came down afterwards to have me review their portfolios and give them some advice.
Thanks to Peter, the Full Sail staff, and students for having me and to Mama’s Sauce for printing the posters.
Some new work for Jetty's Spring/Summer 2011 line is hot off the press and available now. Look for Anchored, Hooked and Woodblock on Jettylife.com and in surf shops throughout the East Coast.
Our friend, Anna Bond, of Rifle Paper Co. has finally made her dream of opening a brick and mortar shop a reality. We have always loved Anna’s work, she has such a beautiful style that she incorporates nicely into paper goods of all kinds. She’s been selling her goods online for awhile and profiles of her work and products have been published both online and print, including Martha Stewart Weddings. Also, this year a selection of her notecards were picked up by Anthropologie.
We enjoyed the evening at the Grand Opening party November 19, perusing Anna’s goods, snacking on treats from Blue Bird Bake Shop, and catching up with old friends. Here’s a few pictures from the night:
We've been swamped here in the studio, but wanted to show you some images to recap our friend Brandon McLean's solo show, Between You & Me, that opened at the Neon Forest Gallery on Sept 25. It was a great show featuring some cool installation work like a fishing tent that led across the space to a photo that inspired it all. Brandon also added old wood paneling and a wooden entrance to the gallery tie the physical gallery space into his works.
We enjoyed the show and hope these images give you a good sampling.

While out in some shops over the weekend, we spotted one of the graphics we drew up a while ago of a barracuda for the ocean-loving brand Salt Life.
On Saturday we traveled down to the Surf Expo to see what’s new in he world of surf, skate, wake and see some of our clients and try to meet new ones. It seemed busier than the January show, which could mean good things for the industry. Most if the major brands were in attendance, but some popular favorites weren’t there, like Nixon, Hurley, Dragon, Spy, Electric. (This is likely because of the huge push for the wakeboard/waterski aspect of the show.)
As always there was some cool booth design, but there was a lot of rehashing of last shows shells, and many companies just went with pop-ups and vinyl-wrapped booths this time around. Rip Curl had a HUGE 30ft+ tall graphic wrapping around their booth which you could could see from across the show. There was some custom one of a kind bikes being painted by the lovely Taylor Reeves, some fun boats and random inspirations to be found all around the show floor. Here’s our iPhone sampling:
One of the highlights at the show this time was stopping our client VonZipper’s booth to check out a few of the tees we have coming out soon. There will be a bunch of different colorways of each of these, but you get the idea.
